5 Tips For a Perfect Engagement Photography
January 12, 2021
Are you looking for a San Francisco City Hall wedding photographer?
January 12, 2021Kristy and David must have somehow known, right from the beginning, that they’d end up together. She told me that on their first date, they’d joked about going to Disneyland together and pretending to get engaged so they could go to the front of the line all day!
Did you know that was even a thing? It turns out that they did go to Disneyland but didn’t pretend to get married then. Their relationship grew, and within a few years, they had a beautiful, feisty little girl who they brought on her first trip to Disney. This time, David did get down on one knee and pop the question!
Kristy contacted me and wanted a Fall wedding but was worried that her beautiful dress, which she bought at BoLee Bridal Shop in Sunnyvale, California, Wouldn’t get shipped in from Barcelona on time. This was a total nail-biter, and many emails went back and forth, with me asking, “Is it here yet?” If the dress didn’t come in by their November 2, 2020 wedding, then there wouldn’t be a wedding.
They signed the contract, crossed their fingers, and went wedding ring shopping. Because you know, when the going gets tough, the tricky go shopping. They chose Jade Galore Jewelers in Santa Clara, and Christine was their designer and worked very closely and patiently with them to get Kristy’s ring just so. Ultimately, they were both pleased with the results, and David proudly put that stunning ring on her finger at the Legion Of Honor Museum wedding ceremony.
We plan pop-up weddings. While we started out as a wedding photography company, things have evolved in the last decade, and now charting the course of a couple’s wedding day is our jam. We have an exclusive partnership with a vintage VW bus company, and David and Kristy decided that a photo tour around San Francisco would be a fun way for them and their toddler to enjoy the sights of the city, take lots of cute wedding snaps, and do it in true summer of love style.
Their itinerary started with the Legion Of Honor Museum for their elopement wedding. Then, we took some stunning couple portraits between the white marble columns and headed to a scenic overlook at Eagles Landing. You can also get a permit from the Parks Department and have your wedding there, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. As a photographer, I like the controlled lighting of a covered area, like the museum space, better. This way, you don’t end up with harsh mid-day shadows on your beautiful face.
Next, we piled into Pearl, the white wedding bus, and headed to the famous Palace Of Fine Arts for a few shots with her gorgeous terra cotta dome and continued on our way to historic North Beach, our old-school Italian section of town. If you want pizza, the best pizza in San Francisco, then go to Tony’s Napolatana! The owner was so excited to have newlyweds during this crazy year that slices were on the house, and he even took a photo with our couple. They felt cherished, welcomed, and celebrated at her heart, which makes this city a place that you always want to return to.
