Three Iconic Locations for your San Francisco Wedding

Want to look like a movie star in your wedding photos? San Francisco City Hall, the Legion of Honor Museum, and the Palace of Fine Arts are three locations that offer beautiful backdrops for wedding photos. City Hall has a romantic feel to it with its impressive dome and white marble steps. The Legion of Honor Museum is reminiscent of the French Renaissance era, so it's perfect for couples who want their pictures to have an elegant look. And lastly, the Palace of Fine Arts offers stunning views across the water with lush greenery in the background. All of these places offer great photo opportunities for your big day!

Mona and Hassan picked these three beautiful locations for their wedding photos. They originally met through an old friend, and the first time they spoke, they were on the phone  for six hours, from 9pm to 3am. That kind of love definitely deserves some special treatment for their wedding photos, and San Francisco has the architecture and provenance to deliver.

All three of these buildings were built around the same time in the early 1900s and feature Beaux-Arts style architecture, which is Influenced by classical Roman and Greek forms. You can see typical features of this style in Mona and Hassan’s incredible photos.

City Hall is one of the most iconic buildings in San Francisco. It is noted for its classical domes and elaborate ornamentation such as garlands, rosettes and sculptured figures against landscapes. With its beautiful architecture, you can't go wrong with this venue for your big day. You'll have plenty of opportunities to take pictures outside and inside. City Hall has lots of great spots for you to get married too, from an outdoor ceremony or a grand ballroom that will make any bride feel like royalty! If you're looking for an intimate setting to tie the knot or want something more grandiose, San Francisco City Hall is sure to please!

The Palace of Fine Arts is another well-known wedding venue in San Francisco. The Palace is a historic, great place for pop up weddings. It features gardens, lagoons, swans, and incredible terra cotta architecture. It is free to the public and is open twelve months a year. It almost never rains here, but if there is rain, there is a beautiful covered rotunda for emergency pop up weddings.

The structure is best known for its many vibrant sculptures, the large pool in front of the Palace, and its dome. The palace was commissioned in 1915, years after the great San Francisco earthquake, to replace two earlier structures of the same name. It was built for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition and has been beautifully restored since then. The building's neoclassical architecture gives it an elegance that makes it perfect for any type of wedding, from a formal ceremony to a more relaxed and casual event.

At the Legion of Honor Museum, not only do you get the courtyard with all of the columns there that are so wonderful, but you also have the front of the building which is magnificent to take pictures in front of with the big white columns. There is also a covered spot there if you need to do a pop up wedding or elopements. The building's architecture and history will make your photos look like they were taken on a movie set. With its grand marble staircases and gorgeous landscaping, you'll be amazed at how beautiful this venue can set the scene for your wedding photos.

It's just a quick two minute drive from there to the ultimate view from an overlook of the Golden Gate Bridge. As you can see, Mona and Hassan took advantage of this breathtaking overlook for some timeless wedding photos they will treasure forever.
