A Quirky Vintage Elopement

These days there's a whole new class of love stories, and they'll go down in history and be told to children and grandchildren for many years to come. Courtney and Benjamin are one of these couples and you might have guessed by now, that they met online during Covid! They live in Toronto Canada and were looking for an all-inclusive destination elopement package someplace that was as fun and quirky as the two of them. Naturally, San Francisco fit like a glove.

They chose San Francisco City Hall as their elopement venue not only for its beautiful architecture but because it's one of the easiest City Halls in America to get married at. Some states have rules that are very prohibitive and don't encourage couples from outside of the state to come and enjoy their wedding services. San Francisco City Hall would LOVE you to come here and get married in their gorgeous and affordable wedding venue. Let me give you some information on how to do this.

Step 1

Go online to this address and book an appointment for your California State Marriage License.

If you already live in the state of California and would like to obtain your marriage license closer to home, you can go to any County Clerk's office to obtain the marriage license and bring it to your wedding officiant with you on your wedding day. All California State Marriage Licenses are good for 90 days.

Step 2

If you'd like to book a pop-up wedding at SF City Hall with our officiant, you'll be allowed to bring up to a dozen guests (give or take), and say your own personal vows. You can also ask us to hold your wedding ceremony outside of City Hall at a beach or park for example.

If you'd prefer to book the San Francisco City Hall civil ceremony, and the date and time you'd like are available, then you can go here to check their calendar and book your appointment. You'll be allowed five guests plus your photographer and or videographer, and will not be permitted to exchange personal vows. This link in Step 1 will take you to the page to make your civil ceremony marriage appointment as well.

As you can see, Courtney and Benjamin totally rocked their City Hall wedding taking wedding pictures on all four floors, the grand staircase, and the famous doors, but that was just the beginning of their magical day together. The color palette that she chose was vibrant jewel tones in all combinations and she loved the bright bridal bouquet and boutonniere that our florist Marina designed for her. You'll also notice her hot pink kitten heel pump that tied her bouquet and his boutonniere.

We arranged for them to board a bright yellow vintage VW Bus, and you can check all of those packages here.

After their marriage ceremony, the newlyweds traveled across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Monument for some adorable couples photographs in the forest. But before they arrived, Benjamin popped a bottle of their favorite bubbly and Courtney adorned their champagne flutes with bright pink flamingo straws to further connect with her color choices. Because they arrived on the VW bus, they didn't need to buy a parking pass ahead of time, but if you're driving your own vehicle, please be aware and order online here.

Next on their agenda was a stop at Muir Beach for a curated picnic that included a decadent chantilly berry cake, and more bubbly because it's their wedding day and that's what one does:) They laughed, frolicked and kissed, and spun along the shore and rock formations, enjoying every moment of their San Francisco wedding experience. They headed back home to Canada with smiles on their faces and rings on their fingers!
